The newest room in town is one of the oldest rooms in town.

Set amidst the gothic bar of an 1840's Gramercy Park mansion, the Paris Bar is one of the most intimate venues in New York. Beginning in the fall of 2006, a series of evenings will bring an eclectic mix of music to the room, combining the new and the old, the elegant and the weird. With a capacity of 250, the setting conjures Paris, Berlin, New Orleans, and an elusive sense of old New York.

The music will continue in the sensibility established by its predecessor, Thread Waxing Space, which presented artists including Antony and the Johnsons, Yo La Tengo, Laurie Anderson, Bert Jansch, Luna, Marc Ribot, Ronnie Spector, The Sea and Cake, J. Mascis, John Cale and Kiki & Herb.
